As part of our commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace and celebrating the various cultures that make up our company, NTH invited our staff and their families to a special meal in observance of Ramadan. Our gathering took place this week with one of our staff members, Osama Abdalla, giving an informative talk about Ramadan followed by the meal at sunset.
Ramadan is a sacred month of fasting, introspection, and prayer for millions of Muslims around the world. Observers fast from dawn to sunset, a practice that serves not only as a means of spiritual purification but also as a way to cultivate empathy for those less fortunate. This time of abstinence from food and drink during daylight hours is followed by Iftar, the evening meal with which they break their fast. It’s a time of community, bringing people together to share in the joy of nourishment and companionship after a day of reflection.
In hosting this meal, we embraced our core value of inclusion, recognizing and celebrating the diverse beliefs and traditions that enrich our collective experience. This event was an opportunity for all of us to learn from each other, to honor the practice of fasting observed by our Muslim colleagues, and to reinforce the bonds that make our company a unique and supportive environment for everyone. This was truly a special evening of fellowship and understanding on our ongoing journey towards a more inclusive and respectful workplace.
Later in the month, NTH will participate in a charity effort aimed at providing food for the less fortunate in recognition of the spirit of giving during Ramadan.
